Provide an independent persistent storage space for an Identity to save and reuse files across Sessions. Different Templates and Sessions under the same Identity can share these files.
Drive is currently in Beta. API definitions, response structures, and behavior may change. Follow documentation updates and verify compatibility before production use.
Getting Started
Manage Drive through the API, or enable managed tools for the Agent.
- API: List, upload, download, and delete files, or clear the storage space.
- Managed tools: Add
drivetomanaged_tool_config.enabled_toolswhen creating or updating a Template, then use that Template to create a Session for the target Identity.
enabled_tools is the complete list of enabled tools; retain any other required managed tools when updating it.
- Enable DeliverArtifacts as well to let the Agent use the full Drive capabilities.
- Direct Drives API calls do not depend on the Template's Drive tool setting or DeliverArtifacts.
- Drive provides persistent storage and file reuse across Sessions; DeliverArtifacts delivers files to users in an individual operation.
Managed Tools
After enabling Drive, the Agent can use these tools within the Drive of the Identity that owns the current Session.
| Tool | Function |
|---|---|
list_drive_entries | List files and subdirectories in Drive. |
add_drive_file | Save files already delivered in the current Session to Drive. |
mount_drive_file | Mount a Drive file into the current Session for the Agent to read and process. |
delete_drive_entry | Delete a specified file or directory in Drive. |
Workflow
- Enable the capability: Enable Drive for the Template and ensure DeliverArtifacts is available.
- Create a session: Create a Session using that Template.
- Save files: Save Agent-generated files to Drive.
- Read files: Find and mount saved files in a Session belonging to the same Identity for reading and processing.
