Computer Use

Configure AppShot, browser connections, desktop control, and record and replay.

Qoder can work beyond code repositories and terminals. Settings → Computer control manages AppShot, browser connections, desktop control, and workflow recording. Complete any operating-system authorization requested when you enable a capability.

AppShot

Choose a shortcut under AppShot → Global shortcut. While another app is in the foreground, press both sides of the selected modifier key to add the window screenshot and accessibility text to the current conversation.

Connect your existing browser

The browser connector can list and switch tabs, navigate, click, fill forms, take screenshots, run scripts, and inspect network requests and console messages. It uses an existing Chromium browser instead of launching a separate isolated instance.
1

Enable the browser connection

Turn on Browser → Google Chrome.
2

Install and connect the extension

Use the link on the page to install the Qoder browser extension, then open the extension in the browser and connect it.
3

Choose a browser instance

If several browsers are connected, open browser connection details and select the instance for the current session.
External browser connections are available only in the Qoder desktop app. The same extension works with Chromium browsers such as Chrome, Edge, and Quark.

Operate desktop applications

In the conversation, identify the target app, allowed scope, and completion criteria. When Qoder starts Computer Use, grant accessibility or screen-recording access if prompted. The Agent can inspect app state, click or type, and inspect the result after each action. Prefer an API, CLI, or dedicated connector when one is available. Use Computer Use when the task must be completed through a graphical interface.
Do not click or type in the same app while the Agent is operating it. High-risk actions might not be reversible; confirm the target, scope, and Access permissions option first.

Record & Replay

  1. Tell Qoder which workflow to record, including its starting point and expected result.
  2. Approve the recording request and complete any operating-system authorization.
  3. Use the floating controls and demonstrate the workflow normally.
  4. Save or discard it. When saved, Qoder continues the conversation and turns the workflow into a Skill.
Record & Replay requires macOS 14 or later.

Privacy and security

  • Enable only the capability needed for the current task and disable it afterward.
  • Page, window, and screenshot content enters Agent context. Close windows that contain passwords, verification codes, keys, financial data, or personal information.
  • Use placeholders rather than real credentials when recording a workflow.
  • You can also revoke accessibility and screen-recording permissions in operating-system settings.
