PPT Editing

Open PPTX files from your workspace in the Qoder desktop app, edit content and layouts, and save your changes.

Qoder supports opening, editing, and saving PPTX files from your workspace directly in the desktop app. Update project progress, revise product descriptions, or adjust training slide layouts while reviewing your presentation. The currently supported file format is .pptx.

Open a PPTX file

  1. Place the PPTX file you want to edit in your current workspace.
  2. Find and open the file in the workspace to enter the presentation editor. If the conversation already contains a link to the file, you can also click that link.
  3. Browse the slides to find the content you want to change.
Once the file is open, you can view and edit its text, images, and slide layouts.

Edit content and layouts

In the presentation editor, select text or a slide element to adjust its content and appearance:
  • Edit text: Update titles, body text, and descriptions, such as replacing project progress with this week's status.
  • Adjust text styles: Change font sizes, colors, and other styles to highlight key information.
  • Adjust slide layouts: Move or resize elements to improve alignment and spacing.
For example, before a project meeting, update the progress slide, increase the font size of the key conclusion, and reposition text and images to make the slide easier to present.

Request changes in a conversation

Make overall changes through conversation

Request changes to the presentation as a whole directly in a conversation, or describe a consistent set of adjustments across multiple slides. To shorten content, refine wording, or update multiple sections, reference the PPTX file in your task and describe the changes. Include slide numbers, the target content, and the expected result to help Qoder identify the scope. For example:
Please update this project report PPTX:
On slide 3, shorten the content to three key points and put the main conclusion at the top.
On slide 5, organize the risk description into Risk, Impact, and Mitigation.
Keep the other slides and the existing color scheme unchanged, then save the file.
If you have just edited the presentation manually, save it before sending your request. After the changes are complete, open the saved file and check the affected slides.

Annotate a specific location

To change a title, image, or area of a slide, you can annotate the location directly in the presentation:
  1. Finish and save your current edits, then click Annotate.
  2. Select the object you want to change, or mark an area of the slide.
  3. Enter your request, such as "Shorten this explanation to a single takeaway," and click the confirmation button to add the annotation to the current conversation.
  4. Check the annotation and request in the task input, then send the message to have Qoder make the changes.
  5. Review the result. Exit annotation mode to continue editing manually.
Annotations describe where and how to make a change. Changes only begin after you send the message.

Save your changes

Save the presentation when you finish editing, and confirm that the changes have been written to the PPTX file. You can continue editing the saved file or use it for presentations and sharing. Manual editing and AI changes use the saved file to carry your work forward. Save before switching between them. If you see a file modification or save conflict warning, confirm which version you want to keep before continuing.
