Qoder Model Usage Reference Factor Adjustment Notice

As Qoder continues to expand its model lineup and improve model capabilities, we periodically calibrate the reference factors for Credits consumption using actual consumption over past periods. This provides a more accurate comparison between models and helps you choose the right model. The update takes effect at 00:00 on September 21, 2026 (Singapore time).

About Auto mode: Auto is the default mode for most users in everyday use. We recently optimized its routing strategy to improve efficiency while maintaining output quality. This means Auto uses fewer Credits, and its reference factor is reduced from 1.0x to 0.5x.

Scope

Applicable products: the full Qoder product family (Qoder / Qoder IDE / Qoder JetBrains plugin / Qoder CLI / QoderWake / Qoder Cloud Agents / Qoder Mobile, and more). Subscriptions: individual Pro-trial, Pro, Pro+, Ultra, and Credit Pack users, as well as Teams, Enterprise, and Service Account seats.

What you need to do

  1. Assess the impact: Review the tables above to understand changes to the reference factors for the models you use.
  2. Plan your Credits: Use the updated reference factors to choose suitable models. If your workflow relies on models with higher reference factors, you can obtain more Credits or purchase resource packs in advance for future use.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What is a model reference factor?

A model reference factor compares estimated Credits consumption between models for the same type of task. A higher reference factor indicates that Credits are expected to be consumed faster in the same usage scenario.

Q: Why are the model reference factors being updated?

As our model lineup expands, we periodically calibrate these factors based on actual consumption rates to better reflect differences in Credits usage between models and provide a more accurate reference when choosing a model. This update is part of that periodic calibration.

Q: Will my Credits balance be affected?

No. Your existing Credits balance remains unchanged.

Q: Will the factor update make me consume more Credits?

No. The reference factors are periodically calibrated using actual Credits consumption over past periods to make model comparisons more accurate and help you choose a suitable model. Calibrating the reference factors does not deduct additional Credits or change actual consumption.

Q: Will the lower Auto factor reduce quality?

No. The lower factor results from routing optimizations. Auto now completes tasks with lower resource consumption while maintaining output quality, giving you an improved experience that uses fewer Credits.

Q: Does this also apply to Teams, Enterprise, and Service Accounts?

Yes. This factor update applies to all editions and subscription types.
