Demonstrate a complete workflow so a Waker can learn the steps and turn them into a reusable Skill.
Recording Learning lets you demonstrate a workflow on your computer. The Waker uses the operation record and your explanation to understand the steps, then turns them into a reusable Skill when you explicitly request it. It is useful for web administration, fixed tool workflows, and repetitive work that needs spoken or written explanation alongside the actions.
Recording Learning is not a screen-video recorder. Finishing a recording does not automatically create or publish a Skill. Return to the original conversation to review the learning result, clarify boundaries, and explicitly request that a Skill be saved or updated.
Confirm the following:
Path: Waker Management → select a Waker → Memory & Learning → Recording Learning.
After recording, ask the Waker in the original conversation to:
Test the created Skill with similar but different data. Confirm that the Waker triggers it in the correct situation, does not retain demonstration-specific data, and stops before high-risk steps.
Return to Memory & Learning → Recording Learning to view the generated Skills and their source-task links.

Before you begin
Confirm the following:
- The Waker runs on a supported Mac, and you have opened the local Console on that device.
- A compatible Computer Use shared component is installed. Recording Learning reuses this runtime component but has its own switch.
- You are in a local one-to-one conversation with an ordinary Waker.
- You have prepared a demonstration account, test data, and a complete operation path.
- The pages do not contain passwords, tokens, customer information, or other sensitive content that should not be collected.
Enable Recording Learning
Path: Waker Management → select a Waker → Memory & Learning → Recording Learning.
- Turn on Recording Learning.
- Check the Computer Use component status.
- Follow the prompts to resolve missing components, incompatible versions, operating-system requirements, or processor-architecture issues.
- Return to the Waker's local direct conversation.
Record a workflow
- Click the recording button in the target Waker's direct-conversation input.
- Review what will be collected, grant the required system permissions, and complete the native confirmation.
- Explain the learning goal, starting point, and expected result in one sentence.
- Demonstrate the operations in their actual order. Pause at important decisions to explain why, rather than only showing where to click.
- Explain the conditions and handling for branches, exceptions, and steps requiring human confirmation.
- Choose Stop and keep on the floating control bar when finished. Choose Discard if you made a mistake, entered a sensitive page, or did not complete the workflow.
- Return to the original conversation and wait for the Waker to interpret and summarize the demonstration.
Turn the recording into a Skill
After recording, ask the Waker in the original conversation to:
- Summarize the goal, prerequisites, inputs, steps, and completion criteria.
- Distinguish stable rules from data specific to this demonstration.
- Add exception branches, stop conditions, and high-risk actions that require human confirmation.
- Define which requests should trigger the Skill and when it should not be used.
- Create a new Skill, or update an existing Skill only when you explicitly identify it.
Manage learning results
Return to Memory & Learning → Recording Learning to view the generated Skills and their source-task links.
- Open the source task to review the original goal, explanation, and learning result.
- Open the Skill to inspect its triggers, steps, permission boundaries, and completion criteria.
- When the workflow changes, demonstrate it again and explicitly request an update to the corresponding Skill.
- If the result is overfitted, contains temporary data, or has unclear boundaries, edit or disable it before using it for automation or production work.
Privacy and data retention
- The native component on the current device starts recording, with permission checks and confirmation each time.
- By default, it collects operation events, session information, and accessibility snapshots. This is not ordinary video recording.
- Screenshots are optional and are included only when the relevant selection and permissions allow them.
- Collected content may be sent to your selected model to analyze the workflow.
- Raw recording material is deleted 30 days after the recording ends, including operation events, session metadata, accessibility snapshots, and optional screenshots.
- Generated Skills and source-task links are not automatically deleted when the raw material expires.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| Recording button is missing | Direct conversation → Waker switch → local Console → supported macOS |
| Component is missing or outdated | Follow the prompts to install or upgrade the Computer Use shared component |
| Remote environment is unsupported | Return to the local Console on the Waker's Mac; remote sessions cannot start recording |
| System permission cannot be obtained | Check macOS permission settings, then restart recording and confirm |
| Recording finished but no Skill was created | Return to the original conversation, explicitly request creation or an update, and review the draft first |
| Skill only works with demonstration data | Remove temporary values and add variables, triggers, exception branches, and completion criteria |
| Need to replay or export the raw recording | The current page does not support raw-record replay or export |
