# Archive a session

> Archive a Session.

`POST /api/v1/cloud/sessions/{session_id}/archive`

Archives a Session and returns the updated [Session object](/cloud-agents/api/sessions/schemas#session-object). Archiving sets `archived_at`; the `status` field itself does not become `"archived"`.

## Path parameters

| `session_id` | string | Session ID with the `sess_` prefix |

## Example response

Returns the [Session object](/cloud-agents/api/sessions/schemas#session-object) with `archived_at` populated.

## Errors

| 404  | `not_found_error`      | Session does not exist |
